Connecting markets

FarCargo operates between Vágar airport in the Faroe Islands and Newark Intl. airport in New York via Keflavik Airport in Iceland. The return flight from Newark is via Billund Airport in Denmark, a major cargo hub, before returning to the Faroe Islands. In April 2024 we added Brussels to our network, and we will add other European destinations the coming months.

With a range of 7.000 km (4350 miles) we can fly to a wide range of destinations within Europe and even the Middle East with our Boeing 757-200F. Maximum payload is 34 T. (75.000 lbs).

This is a great day for us. We’re pleased to have reached this point and are now looking forward to commencing actual operations. This is also an old dream that is now coming true, in particular for initiators Heðin Krett, Hans Meinhard á Høgabóli, and Andrew Djurhuus”.

Supreme quality to our customers

On March 5th. 2024 we launched operations with the inaugural flight of our Boeing 757-200C to Newark Intl. airport in New York. On the Cargo Deck were 32 tons of freshly slaughtered Supreme Salmon from Bakkafrost bound for the American market.

Regin Jacobsen, CEO at Bakkafrost.

This is a new chapter in Faroese trade history. We are now able to deliver fresh high-quality salmon both to the USA and other remote markets only a mere day after the fish swims in Faroese fjords. We believe this will significantly strengthen our competitiveness. we will now be able to provide our customers with the freshest product on the market. For many years, we have aimed to make progress in the American market, and along with our US processing plant in New Jersey, this initiative will provide us with the opportunity to provide the customers with the best service possible. This new route will ensure prolonged shelf-life due to shortened transportation and an unbroken cooling chain”.

This space is for you

Outbound from the Faroe Islands, this cargo hold will be fully loaded with fresh salmon products to the US market with the possibility of expanding to the market in the Middle East.

On the return flights, this space of around 235 m³ is available, offering the capacity of 35.000 kg (77.100 lbs) to the B2B and ACMI marked. The configuration/capacity is 13 PMC´s.
